Dear visitors,
Mi esposa y yo, junto con nuestros hijos, estamos encantados de recibirlos en l’Islette. The castle, therefore, will be the central point of your visit. Sin embargo, this property, with the river that the atraviesa, its molino, the park in the English style and a garden that is structured near the farm on but which still has some natural surroundings, forms a harmonious set that, hopefully, will enchant them.
Mis padres lo aquirieron a mediados de la decade de 1960, cuando el monumento estaba en muy mal estado. They must be saved to undertake important restoration work. Sin embargo, en un lugar como este, les proyectos nunca terminan. Han sido una constant parte de nuestras vidas desde que tomamos el control de l'Islette en 2010 y lo shelteros al público. The task is not necessarily easy, but certainly is emotional. It was present to our anima. Gracias, y deseo una vista maravillosa.
Pierre-André Michaud
Dear visitors,
I'm happy to welcome you to this house.
We live as a family during the fifth month of the year. Our other sites are reserved for use, and we have placed them in the kitchen to allow them to be discovered. Its interior distribution, the size of your homes and its layout, together with the natural light that illuminates it, converts it into a very pleasant living space. This is a warm and human dimension that we need to share with us, where we have allowed access to homes that we can consider personal or intimate.
I am delighted with this place because of my beauty and because I am offered the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people. Sincerely hope that you also appreciate it.
Benedicte Michaud
ENTRANCE DOOR
Compuesta por una puerta de piedra flanked by dos pabellones cuadrados, el conjunto data de principios del siglo XVII. There is an inscription with the 1638 sign on the exterior. Sin embargo, esta fecha does not have to be confused with the finalization of the mismo castillo, which was completed alrededor of 1530.
MOLINO – RIO
Originally a "commonplace" stone, in which the people dependent on the señorío were obliged to move on a three-way rate change, the old stone was converted into a residence after the war. The mechanism has failed, but an examination of the Napoleonic disaster revealed that there are several wheels, one in each case, corresponding to different products.
The river is the Indre, along which the property extends (approximately 50 hectares). The water element, essential for the Islet ("small island"), is intimately linked to beauty and the enchantment of the night. The river also formed the natural border between the communities: Azay-le-Rideau in the orilla derecha, where it entered, and Cheillé in the orilla izquierda, where it found its way to the castle.
This is the most ancient part of the castle and the date of siglo XV. During the construction of the restoration of the actual monument, I had an ancient señorial residence in this place, extending the hacia of the river. Only one part of this wood and stone structure, probably a square label, was connected to the new castle. The ladrillo walls are interior, although the ladrillo walls are exterior. You can see that this is an older building that was older, and there are various aberrations that are different, as well as the age of the technology.
Sin embargo, the existence of Islette is a more ancient one, there is only a text from 1295 indicating that it was owned by Adam Panaterius, bailío de Turena.
With a length of 54 meters along the towers, the monumentality of this Renaissance facade is a testament to the architectural ambition that presided over the design of Islette. This is evident in the election of an elevation of four levels with the attic. Considering the stylistic similarities with the castle of Azay-le-Rideau, the project of Islette was probably conceived previously but, although it was magnificent, it advanced more slowly.
Las dos poderosas de esquina towers, herederas de las de los medievales castles, enmarcan un cuerpo de edificio con una fachada muy regular, rítmicamente puntuada por ventanas de proporciones identicas. These windows, adorned with a volta in the center of the window, were originally all with parts, as they can be seen in the second floor. The floors are separated by a double layer of moldings that form a band. All the structure is crowned by a ready-made machine.
Constructed of beautiful mampostería, probably of cercanas canteras, the castle was originally rodeado of fosos (or replaced by gravel). At the entrance, the slopes of the lever bridge allow access to the castle to be visible. Furthermore, the technologies of the towers are pointed out and the rocks are rematadas with sculpted stone gables.
Alder of the decade of 1830/1840, Jean-Baptiste Dupuy, the propietario of the era, rellenó the fosos, truncó the towers and modified the buhardillas, and do a l'Islette its current appearance. What about any modifications? Previously it was thought that there were no horrible medicines. Ahora se cree que este hombre rico y de fuerte personalidad quería dejar su huella en el lugar.
CARTRIDGE ESCULPIDO
Opening the entry door, this is the motive ultimately sculpted by the era of Renacimiento. In the center, the male figures of the nudes support a yelmo, superpuesto a escudo de armas, todo rodeado de una corona de flores y fruits, simbolizando abundancia y riqueza. Abajo, a hermoso landscape with a little stone and a campanario. The item and the designated item have been released, indicating the importance of this entry being made.
SUN CLOCK
Given the age of the XVIII century, the interests of the clock reside in particular in the curve in the shape of the eye, the last one, which is represented in its center. As the medium on the ground, the dark color of the style follows the curve in the shape of the eye. The signs of the zodiac that correspond to them allow us to determine the period of the year in which we encounter them.
Pintadas a principles del siglo XVII, the decorations of the capilla han recovered all their beauty thanks to a restoration carried out in 2012. The boveda with its crucero de ogivas is adorned with a pair of golden stars of its points on a blue background of lapis lazuli. The nervaduras, asentadas surbre capiteles sculptos, están realzadas por una frisa decorative vegetal estilizada.
Prior to its transformation into a capilla, this level probably will have only one defensive function, like the south-west tower. The colors of the French style are visible from the exterior of the room.
To access this room, pass through the entrance hall, one step must be taken to enter the castle through the main bridge that originally existed. The monument is actually rodeado de fosos. This is very clearly in the Napoleonic disaster, a reproduction of this figure in this room. Also, observe the ancient recording: es de l'Islette, rodeada del agua de los fosos, con sus puntiagudas y sus buhardillas, antes de las modifications made in the siglo XIX.
This room, also restored, has been dedicated to Camille Claudel and Rodin, notably thanks to very interesting documents that we have kindly proportioned to the Rodin Museum. It deals in particular with cards of the artists related to Islette or emblematic of their sentimental relationships, of their personality.
CAMILLE CLAUDEL AND AUGUSTE RODIN, THE PASSION OF DOS ARTISTAS
In 1882, Camille Claudel became an alumnus of Auguste Rodin; Age 17, age 41. Exceptionally endowed, quickly integrated into its size. From this encuentro born a double passion, so loving as an artist, that lasted approximately a decade.
Exasperated by being confined to the alumni paper and deseando emanciparse to be recognized by his creative work owner, Camille Claudel broke up in 1892. I also understood that Rodin did not abandon his companion, Rose Beuret, by her.
CAMILLE CLAUDEL Y AUGUSTE RODIN IN L’ISLETTE
L'Islette hosted on various occasions, at the beginning of the decade of 1890, the amores apasionados of the great artists. The property is for your peaceful refuge. This relationship is not official, so it will be a place where you retire. ¿Why what? In July of 1889, Rodin discovered the Loira and its castles, of the various numbers of drawings, including the one of Islette (in the common room), and it was created that it was the first trip when the castle was noted. And the owners of the era simply received their pagantes. Ambos regresaron during the veranos of 1890, 1891 and 1892.
MONUMENT TO BALZAC
(see the photos immediately when you enter the community room)
In August 1891, the Société des Gens de Lettres, under the presidency of Émile Zola, commissioned Rodin to create a Monument to Balzac. Enthusiastic, the artist returned to Islette and, taking a model with a type from Tours, encountered one on a street in Azay-le-Rideau called Estager, then parecido with the large writer was extremely impactful. Rodin, who always came to sculpt his naked figures before the dress, you wanted to show a gold medal for this session that revealed his anatomy. So, in Islette, you see an important initial phase in the creation of the Monument to Balzac. The solo album was completed in 1898, but it was not required to be sufficient for the majority of its contemporaries; Rodin asked to create a moral retrato of the artist. He lived in his villa in Meudon and did not settle in Paris, at the Carrefour Vavin, until July 1, 1939, and died in 1917.
The Gran Sala, with its herbs and elaborate decorations, is the orgullo of this castle. And it seems more prestigious when someone imagines that they can be served as Camille Claudel and Rodin during their estancias in l'Islette.
It was called Sala de San Pablo in honor of a quadruple that represented the conversion of Pablo on the road to Damasco, which previously adorned the chimney. Ha disappeared and ha sido replaced by a Virgen con Niño atribuida a la escuela de Simon Vouet.
This room (14 meters wide by 8 meters high and 5 meters high on the bottom of the technology) offers a notable pictorial decoration of the principle of the XVII century, which constitutes an iconographic program of high symbolism and theology, testimonio de una epoca marcada por los conflicts. confessionals. The painted elements include the entire technology, the chimney, the wooden boards of the floors, the panels above the doors and a frieze that covers the upper part of the walls. In the zodiac, there are a few rows of elegant flowers alternating with landscapes that have a menu like water, a tan element present in Islette: you can distinguish a scene of fishing or a pastorate over your eggs in the orilla del río.
In the frieze there are also painted various medallions: among other people, at the end of the chimenea, Venus, diossa de la belleza, y Eros, divinidad del amor, armado con su arco y su carcaj; At the end of the room, there was a combat scene. All of the set is colorfully decorated with fruits and flowers that symbolize abundance.
FIREPLACE
Below the central quadrant that adorns the chimney (the Virgen and the Child), a medallion painted describes a scene of the house, even at the orilla of the water, where it subtracts more than the importance of this element in Islette. A ambos lados del cuadro represents an alegorías de virtudes que el señor del lugar debió querer destacar. A la izquierda, dos teological virtudes: in the lower part, the Esperanza, reconocible by its ancla; in the upper part, the Fe, with a Bible and a cruz like attributes. There is a tercera that cannot be found here: Caridad. As for the cardinal virtues, apart from prudence and templanza, which do not appear, distinguish themselves, a la derecha, la justice y la fortaleza. When you observe this, you can note that the four arms of your arms are damaged. The chimney is a very ornamental one, but it probably has original sculptural motives.
FROSTED SHIELDS OF WEAPONS
The castle was built by René de Maillé in 1530, a member of an important noble family of Turena that was placed during three years, from 1350 to approximately 1650, and was worth 27 escudos of arms, painted on the upper part of the walls, known tataranieto, Charles de Maillé, who converted to the Marquis in 1612. There is a particular historical interest in that, there are only the arms of the Maillé family, the owners of Islette, who occupied all the friso in the last one to end, in the middle, bordering the chimney, with Charles, crowned by the corona of marked (los of her mother's family is represented in the north).
Between these shields of arms, without embargo, hay an intruder: ¡no tiene nada de noble! This is the chimney that Jean-Baptiste Dupuy (you could see a little!) ordered to be painted, the owner who decided to make the modifications to the house in the XIX century.
DORMITORY IN THE WEST TORRE
A habitación cuadrada en una redonda tower, el grossor de su paredes (2.30 metros) ha sido aprovechado... Tal vez Camille Claudel se lojaba en esta habitación. From here, by one, we say that Rodin has varied habits in this plant and, by another one, in a card that was written on the 25th of June of 1893, the saying: "Mlle Vaissier vino a verme y contó toda clase de fábulas inventadas sobre mí en l'Islette. ¡Because at night by the window of my tower, suspended from a red sombrilla where it takes fire from the bosque!”
PEQUEÑO DORMITORIO CON PAREDES DE LADRILLO
This is the antigua part of the building XV, it is in the interior. This covering of drills, with its combinations "prepared for the past" - of course, is good for the backs of the collection corresponding to the sides of the albañil - it is permanent as it is at that time.
Aquí is located at the other tower of the castle, where it is located to the east. It's just around the corner of the capilla; one of the doors, surrounded by the key, leads to a small step tall in the wall that allows access to it.
Today, this home has been converted into a kitchen. This also means that the size of the parents has been approved. This is evident in appliances, especially the Frigidaire, a brand that the Sr. and the Sra. Michaud asks to keep all costs and that, therefore, the problem will be repaired completely. Finally, observe the hermosa view of the river.
Ha recorrido toda this first plant, from one tower to the other.
The plant segment has an identical distribution to this one. Probably no one will be sheltered from the public. This is made for other life spaces for the owners' private use.
This habitat is very pleasant to live in, thanks in particular to the large windows that have much natural light throughout the day. Offers a hermosa view of the garden.
In the Renacimiento, this dwelling and the kitchen probably formed the señor's apartment. The actual bedroom has the same bedroom as the bedroom next to the chimney (the wall is the same) and the kitchen corresponds to the dressing room. And the small habitación cubierta con una bella bóveda de crucería constitutes un studio. In the second floor, the apartment of the señora de la casa can be found in the same room.
THE LITTLE CHATELAINE (The little Castellana)
Camille Claudel, who retired from solitary confinement in Islette from September 1892, probably to recover from an embarazo which was not lifted at the end, and at the moment of her breakup with Rodin, had 62 lives with the little Marguerite Boyer, of 6 years, denied her owners. From these numbered sessions, created La Petite Châtelaine, one of its most famous sculptures, "the little girl of Islette" as the llamaba, quizás of the child that nunca you. Towards one of the marbles, Rodin declared: “This is the reason for me to have a puñetazo de emulación”. There are various variants of La Petite Châtelaine, the difference is in the painting. You can admire a bronze of this marble sculpture, with a brown patina. This model has three curves and is ready.
THE LOVESEATS (The chysmosas)
Also included in the comedor, an original bronce from Les Causeuses by Camille Claudel. From 1892, he differentiated himself from Rodin, in particular with the sculptural miniatures that represent the intimate scenes of contemporary life. Received numbered praises and multiplied versions. The model presented here is in bronze with a brown-negra patina, firmed "C. Claudel 1896" on the front.
THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT!
