1295: L’Islette, land dependant of the l’Ile-Bouchard was owed by Jean Pannetier, Bailli de Touraine.

The de Maillé family became the owner of the domain for three centuries from 1350 until 1650.

The actual castle was built thanks to René de Maillé and finished in 1530.

Next it passed onto the Tiercelin d’Appelvoisin family and then Barjot de Roncée bought it.

From Rivarennes, in july 1769, Beaumarchais wrote to his wife : « Through the trees and far away, I can see the tortuous course of the river Indre and an ancient Château flanked by two towers belonging to my neighbour Mme de Roncée ».

During the Revolution, the Château was owned by Charles Tiercelin d’Apelvoisin, a deputy in the  government the « Estates-General » of 1789 and who died in 1793 on the guillotine.

2010: Open to the public.
